It's all 6h3 same height. I really like it. Can you add height to one of the islands

Yeah true and not much to improve on if I tey replicate and hard to add holes... really finding it hard to find a scape Idea

Tank is a 75 gallon predator reef. Made a sort of floating island supported with pvc, primarily used marco rock but have a little bit of live rock in the tank as well. The middle island has a bare spot showing pvc which i plan on covering with one last piece of live rock.
Do you think that one more piece hiding the pvc would be adequate or perhaps a handful more pieces?
Corals will be primarily montis, mushrooms, gorgonians and eventually more sps once the tank is more established.

What are your opinions on this scape for a reefer 170 24x20x20 inches? Tank is up and running but I don't like the current scape and I want to make it SPS dominant with some LPS on the bottom. There will only be 2 fish, a copperband and a lawnmower blenny along with 1 fire shrimp so I'm not really worried about habitat. I'm not a very creative person and usually just pile rocks up so currently both of my tanks look like a pile of rocks lol.

I like the layout. There is a lot of swim room and the islands will help keep the corals isolated from each other. My only concern would be that there are not a lot, if hiding places for fish but I don't know your stocking plans so that my not be an issue

Plan on a longnose hawk, dwarf lion, Canthigaster leoparda, 2 or three Halichoeres wrasses, and eventually an eel if the bioload can handle it. Hawkfish and lion should be fine as ive created quite a few perching areas, and the floating reef acts as quite a large cave. For an eel i have a large pvc tunnel and the front rock structure has a significant amount of caves and hiding places, maybe hard to see in the pictures. For the wrasses i think you are right, there are a couple hideaway places but it could use more.

If you need an outside perspective to help with improving your aquascape, just post here a few shots of your tank, and will try my best shot at providing specific advise according to your goals for the tank.

Sometimes I can just answer here, show the alterations using photoshop or make a video.

Just post here front shots with your cellphone/camera positioned at 3 different heights (sand level, centre and water level) and also a couple of angled photos, so that I can have a better understanding of your tank's layout.

This is a subject that is surprisingly not researched by most reefers and I have given some thought and some time ago I did a similar exercise in another forum.

It's also a great way for everyone to learn from each other and see a few freshwater techniques that we can apply and also many others that are specific for reef tanks.

In the meantime, if you want some inspiration here are a few videos I made with suggestions for different tank shapes.

Hate the "piles of rocks" in my 75g I set up a month ago, want to get some help/advice on what I have laid out for my other 75. I have more rock and am willing to break to get pieces, gluing not an issue either. Here's the only one I've liked enough to vacuum the table around and take pics.. bless my husband for taking my "shiny black background" to the max and holding up or old 65" tv..

I think it looks pretty great! Love the differences on the 3 sections. I would do similar with the 3 small rocks in front, they're too symmetrical right now. Maybe you want a little bit longer or taller, or a few small pieces together, etc

I think this is about “final”. Plan is to walk away for a day or two, come back to epoxy the new pieces and look at it with fresh eyes. I may add just a little more to the center structure.

Otherwise, I think this is it!

My goals were to:

1) Have plenty of spots for SPS.
2) Have a large torch garden
3) Have space for a small high-end Goni garden
4) Have plenty of sand space for meaty centerpiece LPS
5) Balance lots of swimming space with caves, overhangs, and swim-throughs for the fish

What do you think? All feedback is welcome!

Otherwise, I think this is it!

No tank yet but it is a flex 32. I've drawn out the basic dimensions for the floor and the back wall. Roughly 30lbs of rock. Goal is mixed but more so corals than fish. Tried to give space to clean substrate and only 2/3 height of the tank to provide for corals on top with space to grow.

Too much rock and too dense. Think open floor plan with shelves and swim room. Coral will fill in and provide plenty of place to hide.
