Hello! Been reading for some time now and finally decided to make a post!

Looking for some input on my first mock up.

The actual tank will have another full 1" on either side, I just didnt have enough cardboard. Additionally I plan to break down some of the rock where I've created a channel so that it will be a bit wider.

Plan is mostly LPS and softies with a few small fish.

Thanks for looking!

Would love your input on my new 75g Crystal dynamics tank build. Currently seeding the dry rocks in separate container for couple weeks and leak testing main display with tap water for a week.
Here's pics of what I put together before I put rock into container to seed. This tank will mostly house sps. Thank you for your help.

I’ve come up with two ideas thus far, would appreciate any feeedback on what would be a better layout or what you would recommend. Thank you again for your help!

If you could take that first one and turn the left side formation up for a cave I think it would look really good I always like it when the fish swim through caves and tunnels

Both are pretty nice. I think the larger structure wants to be taller than the other structure. @Jordan Prather ’s idea might do that.

It looks like it goes right to the edge. You probably accounted for that. If not you may want to consider leaving a couple of inches around the glass for cleaning and better flow. All just my opinion. I think it is a great start.

I am not a big fan of that type of layout with a lot of rock, but many are. Even with that personal opinion, when I got to your top down shot it brought it all together for me nicely.

Thanks for the reply! I do agree that there seems to be a lot of rock. Going to have to try it in the tank to see how it looks but will probably try to prune it down a bit.

I am happy with the layout though!

Can you help me out
Still have a lot to do before i stock it

I too enjoy the scaping part. I have been working on my scape for more than a year. It helps that it's dry rock outside of the tank. I've taken it apart so many times, I forget what the first scape looked like. I play around with each piece like it's a puzzle. I look at all sides of each piece of rock to make sure it looks like it grew from the other pieces. I could easily spend a couple hours at a time playing around with it. Your scape looks great.
sounds just like me! I too have spent over a year fumbling with rocks. I've created a bunch of awesome structures but my tank is tiny. I got way more rock than I needed, thinking that would be a good thing. Nope, bad. Too many choices...

Here's my 220 gallon. Hoping to get some opinions but mostly advice on coral placements. What would you do with it ?

Looking for critique on mine as well. I don’t have anything glued down, and I have a large piece outside im trying to break because I’m not a fan of the shape. But for now, these are the ones I’m trying to employ in my scape.

Even with the extra inch on each side the already looks a bit too full. I would try removing one of the 2 rocks in the front.

The thing that it doesn't look to belong in there it's the shelf: It's a different type of rock, it's perfectly horizontal and it creates 90 eegrees angles.

The pillar on the left by itself looks very good.

Here are a couple of suggestions:

- the reef branches don't seem to match the rest of the rock, so I would remove it.

- the layout is too symmetric, I would try to make sure the 2 structures have different sizes, heights and shapes.

Cycling a new 25 gallon cube.

I like it, it looks very interesting and cohesive.

The little rock in the front left is well positioned but maybe the layout would "breath" a little bit more without it.

I like them all.

On the first, I would try to increase the height.
