Hey guys,
So, I am in need of some help.
I have the IM nuvo fusion 30 l and I'm struggling with my lighting choice for a mixed reef, mostly lps/softie/ monti and birdnests towards the top. I have two options.

2 year old kessil 160we.
Less than 1 year old AI Prime HD

Tried the Prime wasn't sure how much I liked it, I took it off and placed on the kessil.
My questions are:
- which light should I use in your opinion/experience?
- if you use one of those lights with those types of corals, what settings are you running?
- what do you think about using both at the same time? To help with a better spread.

Happy reefing,
mdevito

I'm personally a big fan of kessils. The shimmer, color blending, and ease of use is what really attracts me to them. The only downside is that the kessil is not controllable without an external controller whereas the prime is wifi controllable out of the box.

What do you think of running them both?
It's definitely something you could try out and see how you like it. Especially if you already have both lights. Just controlling two separate lights might be a bit of a challenge.

I'm just thinking it will help to eliminate shadowing. Just wonder how I will have to program the two to try to match the spectrum on both sides of the reef.

Also, if anyone has experience with the kessil 360 would it be useful to maybe trade in the 160 and Prime for just one of those? Would 1 have enough cover?

This is a 36" long tank correct? You would be better off getting a second Prime or a Second 160. Since it's a shallow tank as well you should have no issues with either of those for gorwing out the less light demanding SPS like monti and birdsnest.

What do you think about running both of these lights as oppose to buying another of the same type and selling one off ? Yes 36" long,

I personally wouldn't bother with trying to run them together like that. IT would be very distacting, I would pick on you like buy another and sell theone your not using.

I guess the real question is which do you guys think is best?

Not sure why you would ask us, It is a personal pinion. It's your tank you have both lights, put them over the tank and see which you like best. They will both be fine over a tank that shallow and narrow

I ask because I like to know what is popular among my fellow reefers. I like to get opinions and hear arguments on why one type of LED might be preferred. That's why I included in the title of this thread "would like some opinions". Thanks for the input though!
