I have no Idea what this is, and how to get rid of it. this is not a pic of my tank but I found this and it resembles my issues 100%
it is in the sump mostly , and I found a couple small patches in the DT. any help would be appreciated.

I have one six line wrasse, and it is mostly on the surface of the sump, but there is very little on submerged power cords also.

i say its lack of flow in the sump or should i say lack of movement on the water surface in the sump.. i have seen this before and i dont believe is created by a animal but i could be totally wrong!

What's your pH. I know when I had a pH problem, where it was very low, I'd get this snot-like bacterial bloom. Once I raised my pH, it went away.

This might be a shot in the dark..but I use to have a rimless frag tank in my bedroom and I use to get that film on top of my tank. Couldnt figure it out for the longest time. Then I watched my wife one day spraying hairspray all around her head. Then I put it together that it was the mist of the hairspray that made that film on top. For some reason the saltwater separated from mixing in and I use to have to skim it off the top. I told her to do her hair in the other bathroom and it went away. Maybe something you spray around the area to clean. Just an idea.

the family id very good about not spraying around the tank, but I do have one of those automatic misters that spray every 9 minutes about 15 feet from the tank. so I will turn it off for a little while and see what happens.
