Tank over a year old had to use tap water for a week stupid mistake this is what I've been battling for 2 months been doing massive water changes. Doesn't help yest show 0 phosphates 0 nitrates 8 kh cal at 450 0 ammonia can't seem to figure this out

oh boy, Increase skimming, use a phosban reactor, or a macro like chaeto to take down nutrients. Some people have had success treating "dinos" by raising their ph and alk, but if you do so, do it with caution. With a case this bad i might pull all my rocks and scrub them to death. It is dinos right? or is HA? I cant tell.

Boy... You have major problem there... It must be high in silicate and your po4 must read zero coz that algae consume it.. Add just only one turbo snail as your tank is small. In a week or two it will take care of that problem but still you need to target the main proble that cause that problem because it will keep on coming back if you don't.

Hmm I wouldn't tear it down yet. Just for fun i'd try this

1) 3 day black out
2) Water change with RODI 0 TDS water every week for 1 month! Don't ever use tap water again
3) h202 dosing
4) Run GFO / phosguard
5) Turbo snails

Dino's can be beat but you gotta get rid of all those silicates and phosphates first. I'd also stop feeding the tank

Going to try that coffee. Already have 2 turbo snails. The water was a stupid mistake and I knew better sigh. ..... i was already doing weekly water changes also but hopefully the dosing and lights out will help. Hoping I can beat this. Would you recommend me moving corals and livestock to another tank while I try and fix this?

Maybe but what the heck already have almost 2 years into the tank what's a couple weeks to a month to see if I can beat this stuff

No you shouldnt have to remove anything. Make sure it is a complete black out.

Be ready to do a WC as soon as the 3 days is done. Filter socks help a lot too

I'm going to try and find more info, but I remember reading that doing frequent water changes can actually hurt the dino fight.
