Ok I got my first calcium reactor today. It is a used life reef LCR2. My question is do I have to have a feed pump for it? I picked it up used from someone who never used it and I cant find instructions any where. Thanks. here is a link to the diagram

I have my return pump to my tank feeding mine. The yellow 1/4 line is the intake line from my return pump.

Hey Seth. Looks like you got quite the set up there :). ok, I think that I have that part figured out. Now my next question is, is there supposed to be a steady stream of water coming out of the drain pipe into the tank. I am only running about 20 bubbles a minute because my PH controller wont be here until monday. Thanks again.

The effluent stream is usually run anywhere from a slow 1-2 drops per second to having it just dialed back from a steady stream. I have my Geo reactor set with the latter. What kind of media are you using large or small? That will be a factor also when you set the PH controller up and determine what PH you are keeping the reactor set at.

I have my drip a little faster. I find it works better for me if I keep it at a fast drip almost a steady stream.

cool guys thanks for all of the help. I think that I have it all figured out.

Ok, so I got my ph controller all hooked up, so now my next question is what should the ph in reactor be before my controller shuts off the CO2?

Which media are you using? You'll need a lower PH (somewhere between 6.2 to 6.5) to break down the larger media versus the smaller media(6.6 - 6.8). You'll want to tweak it depending on your system's demand as well.
