Need help

Welcome to the REEF!! You can use them if there are made for both fresh and salt water. It should tell you on the label. In the future I would recommend getting a Marine test kit even if its API if its made for saltwater it will be more accurate IMO. I like the Elos and Red Sea test kits myself. Easy to read and they are affordable.

It is labeled as fresh water, I ordered online and by mistake ordered the fresh water kit

Welcome again. If they are labeled fresh water, then no. I do think API makes a kH that can be used on both but it would be labeled as such on the package.

The api kh test can be used for reefs. I think you just count it differently. The ammonia nitrate and nitrite can also be used but the colors are different on the marine charts. It is the same reagents though. As mentioned Red Sea and such are more accurate so for now these will work, just work in getting the better more accurate ones.

You can print the API charts out for marine. Colors may not be exactly correct, but they will be close.

I am currently residing in Vietnam and at the moment the API kits are all I can find,
And as far as I know it should work as it measures the amount of acid added to the sample water to reduces the ph to a certain level.

will try it today and see what happens and then measure again with a salt water kit

Welcome!

You'll be a lot happier all around shelling out for marine test kits. Give the API freshwater to a fish friend for Christmas ;)

Regift FTW
