Hello everyone im a new reefer joining the hobby its been a year after i set up mu redsea reefer 350L. I have this issue currently with my tank and i cant seem to solve this. I change my filter floss every 3 days and blow the rock and sand to get rid of this but always seems to come back. Im trying to make this tank an sps tank but struggling through this point.

My parameters:

Nitrate:10
phosphate:0.7
Alkalinity:8
Calcium:420
Magnesium:1300
Salinity: 1.025

My equipment are
2 ecotech radion xr15 gen 4
Nyos skimmer
Clearwater algae scrubber
I run carbon in a media reactor

lights run at 11hrs 75% intensity.

Looks like cyano.
Cyano likes light and low flow.
Since your tank is new it is not yet balanced enough for something to out compete it for nutrients and light.
You might search here for cyano threads
I would avoid the chemical remedies as they dont always produce the same results with every tank and can cause other issues

Hi lapin thanks for the reply im currently running 2 Maxspect gyre at 100% almost the whole day. Should I start reducing the lighting hours.

That should help plus sucking it out.

Turn down whites
Suck up what you can
Turn off UV if any
Add 1ml per gallon H2O2 after dark to a high flow area, repeat 4 nights
Add 2-3mk per gallon bottled bacteria in the morning for 4 days and change your socks each morning.
Ensure N and P have not bottomed out

Try sucking out what you can and reduce your lighting. I have never kept any SPS corals so I am not sure how much you can reduce your lighting with out hurting your corals. Do a search for Cyano. There is a "5 minute reef guide put together by Bulk Reef Supply that has a video on this topic. Good luck!
