Reason I'm sure is my lfs has hundreds all over their tanks.

It's an asterina. They're pretty meh. Given the right conditions they can reach plague numbers and start starving (which leads them to find other food sources like corals). If you have one or two, don't worry. If you have a ton, start removing them.

Remove or rehome it now and save your self a lot of frustration down the road.
