I'm relatively new to reef keeping and have had my 75gal for about 3 months. I added 2 clowns and a prawn goby as well as a hammer coral over several weeks and they are all doing fine. Water is doing great too. I've noticed these little trees growing from the live rock and have no idea what they are. I can't seem to find any info on these. Does anyone know what they are and if they are good or bad?

It does. But there appears to be no red bryopsis I can find.

Can you get a better Pic of the individual shoots?
This is a close up. I've tried an image search on google to no avail.

It may be hair algae...it's not uniform. But it looks like a red bryopsis lol I've never seen it red though.
There's still hope!

Macro algae. Red algae.

"Rhodophyta also contains one of the largest phyla of algae, containing over 7,000 currently recognized species with taxonomic revisions ongoing."

Could it be Gracilaria? I had some in me refugium but I only added a small steam and it disappeared relatively quick.

I'll keep an eye on it. The rocks were Carib Sea dry rocks. I bought them in the hopes that I wouldn't drag anything g into the tank
