Does anyone know what this one is? Looks like a Monti, but I am not sure.
Thanks for the help.

Its porites.

Nice color on it!

If you frag me up a piece, I'll inspect it closer :nerd:

How about this. Cut me a pice, send it over so I can have a look in person.... ;)

No sponge. It is a hard encrusting coral.:squigglemouth:

Yeah, porites look like a monti, or a sponge, but they are hard, flat, encrusting corals, without visible polyps, that grow with little "eyes" everywhere.

Speaking of.......the Sandollar monti, isn't really a monti - its porites as well.

I am reading about it right now and it looks like you have nailed it. Still have not seen coloration like on this one:angel:.

Definetely a unique color for porites, or any coral. Its nice.

I have about 5 different ones, one from Japan, and a couple other rarer ones. Definetely cool pieces, but grow slow.

I don't think it is. I will try to get better picture.

A little further back will help. It has 24 tentacles like a goni, but doesn't look like it has the stem extention -

It is probably a short tentacle goni.

Cyphastrea would be my first guess without researching it.
