Need id

So I have a 20 gallon long with a peacock mantis in it. I check on him yesterday nothing wrong, but today when i came to clean the tank there was a weird red thing. I need to know if its safe or not. If its not safe how do I remove it?

Kinda looks like he may have molted and covered it up. If so, that's a good thing.
