Momma clown has gotten really aggressive towards other fish in my 75 including the male she has been paired up with. I've had her probably close to 4 years and she has never been aggressive until now. She's not only protecting a small corner but the entire 75 gallon tank. She's even chased the male to the other side of the tank. He stays away until lights out and they sleep together. This seemed to have started when my old Bangaii died. They stayed on the same corner of the tank and now that the Bangaii is gone the clown is terrorizing all the other fish. I scooped her out while she was sleeping the other night but and put her in the QT but I'm afraid to add her back. I also have a 40 breeder that would be totally new territory to her but again I'm afraid she'll continue to be aggressive. I've had her for a long time and don't want to get rid of her unless I have to.

Any suggestions?

I've never tried it on an aggressive Mama Clown, but the mirror trick has worked for me with other fish including Angels, Tangs and wrasses.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'm going to try her out in the 40 breeder. If she's aggressive in there I can get her out easily.

I will give that a try after I move her to the 40 gallon. If she's still aggressive.

re aquascape?

I can't re-aquascape the tank she was in. The 75 is sps heavy and packed with corals. I hoping the move to the 40 breeder will make her be not as territorial.

What about another aggressive fish like a 6 line or dwarf angel to distract her?

I actually had a flame angel in QT but it didn't survive long after shipping. I'm going to get another soon so I'll try that too.

He must have been seeing another fish on the side. Do you blame her?
