As the title says, I need some ideas on a floating canopy for my new build. This is not my first tank but it is my first rimless tank and like I always say my last tank :) So looking for the perfect fit and functionality, I would like to have some sort of skirt to hide the light glare and some sort of device to lift the canopy out of the way when I need to get in the tank, Thanks in advance!

BUMP!!

Get a food storage shelf plastic would be lighter and wrap it, attach the lights, and suspend the unit above the the tank. You can do with metal but plastic you can screw the sides to it. If you have a resturant supply by you, you can possibly buy one shelf and I would see if you can find a use shelf. If you find use you can save a bunch of cash.

google "aquarium canopy lift" - lots of examples using hydraulic lifts (linear actuators).
