I have a 120 gallon tank with a stand that has a 12" ledge around the front and both sides. I currently have a small tank set up on the ledge of the stand. Below the tank I have a fuge and sump.

I have been doing daily water changes from the 120 into the small tank using a cup from the kitchen.

What I would like to happen is to have some sort of a system that does constant water changes on the small tank. This tank is temporary and I would like to not use pumps. I am thinking something along the lines of air line tubing and syphons. If you are able to think of anything please let me know.

What I have thought of is having air line tubing coming over the front of the 120 and goes into the small tank maybe a T or some sort of fitting that would allow water exchange to happen and then another tube going into the sump. I can't think of a proper way for the exchange to happen without draining/flooding the small tank.

If this isn't possible no big deal il just keep chugging along with the cup :)

Here is a picture to give you an idea of what we are working with.

How far away is the small tank? You may be able to do it with sure line tubing. You would just need to tire a knot in it like the method many of us use to drip acclimate new livestock

The small tank is sitting next to the 120 on the same stand. I have to assume you mean air line tubing. That is what I was thinking. I am asking if anyone has an idea of how to make it work.

Your first idea will be tough!

If you can drill the small tank then just have a small power head pump or something feeding it and let it drain into the big tank sump.

The "little" tank is 5 gallons and the "glass" I have determined is a few sheets of onion paper siliconed together. I am not scared to drill tanks but I am scared to pick this tank up. I have never felt such a thin sheet of glass in my life.

I can't think of a way to get one syphon going with two begin and end points so I will keep doing the water changes. I tested the water today and found that I need to do bigger water changes. There was ammonia and nitrite in the water so I will up the water changes to 30% daily until they are at acceptable levels.

I am still very open to hearing any options on the dual syphon thing. If you think you have an idea I am willing to give it a shot. I would love to be able to temporarily plumb this thing into my system with RODI tubing.
