Could anybody help me identify these strange creatures in my tank? It's the long part sticking out of the middle of the corral pointing up. It's hard to touch (metal tweezers) and it will extend a long and thin mucus-like string into the water and collects marine snow. It seems to be getting bigger and I found another one on my rock. Thanks

20201011_191751.jpg 20201012_123752.jpg Get bumblebee snails they will eat them. I thought they weren't harmful till I had so many of them they multiply and my tank was getting a mess . They are harmful to corals. Looks like strings everywhere they put out to catch food

Yup, that is it! Thanks. I read they could hurt stony corals, however, the one it's growing on seems to also be doing the best (growth-wise). Should I be concerned?
Their slime can irritate some corals more than others. If I can see the entire tube I just scrape the entire thing off and suck it out of the tank.

buy Bumblebee snails they will get rid of them. i had so many of them they kept multiplying and i had slime strings everywhere! i bought 5 bumblebee for my 150 gal and they cleaned it up..
