I have been lurking/learning here for a short time. I have a 46g bowfront that has been up and running for almost 4 years. FOWLR, I have added some zoas, xenia, bta. Kinda want to take the tank in a different direction.

Just since last week I noticed these small 'bug' like things on my rocks and now I am seeing them everywhere. They are smaller than ants. What I am concerned with is that they are on my bta's 'stump' (don't laugh). Are they cleaning or doing other damage?

Been reading and researching but I am too much of a novice to know what is what. Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing that you're talking about amipods. Copepods are very small and hard to see while the lights are on. I hope you don't have isopods which can be harmful. Isopods are usually bigger though. A pic would a big help.

They are so small I would not be able to get a picture. they look like clear little fleas on my bta. will they be bad for it?

I think you should just keep an eye on them but I wouldn't worry too much. If they're that small they're probably copepods.
