I am setting up my first tank so I bought a used 29G biocube. I have the hood, but no lighting. I would like to keep the hood so I don’t have to worry about evaporation as much. I have been looking at the reef bars from 21led. Would 4 12” bars be enough? Which ones do I need (color spectrum)? Thank you

Maybe if you post a link to the light your thinking of, you'll get more feedback. Cannot answer your question if we don't know which 12" bars your considering.

Also post a pic of your hood, and you might get suggestions for lights that will fit in there.

I’ve kept the stock lights on mine for 4.5 years and it grows corals fairly well. Since yours doesn’t have a light and you want to keep the hood, I’ve heard of people using Steve’s LEDs or AI Blades and it working with the existing hood

I second AI blades, heard a lot of good stuff about them!
