Hey everyone I’m looking at building my RODI Mixing station and need a recommendation for tanks. I’m thinking of 50gal cylindrical with 10gal increment markings. I’ve seen them on some threads but haven’t been able to source them for a “reasonable” price.

Any help is much appreciated!

Most everyone uses brute cans which are easy to drill and seal

I’ve got a few of those already but want something a little more substantial like vertical cylindrical tanks with gallon markings. They look so clean and I’m guessing easier to measure out the salt.

I use these, 55 gallons each.

I was looking at U-Line. They have freshwater and brine storage tanks. Found it interesting most containers aren't rated for storing saltwater (but hey, many store strong acids/basics without issue so what do I know).

Those opaque tanks with graduations are super nice but a bit pricey, a cheaper option is to get the blue 50 gallon plastic drums(easy to find cheap on Craigslist) and put a couple uniseals and barb street tees with a length of clear vinyl hose where you make your own graduations.

I was thinking of going with these because they’re only about $100 and can get them from Home Depot but I think they’re going to take up a lot of space.

I have 55 gallon ace rotomold vertical rectangle tanks that were ordered from rural king a few years ago with free shipping (showed up UPS). Oddly the 55 gallon vertical round tanks did not qualify for free shipping and would've doubled my price.

If you stacked them one ontop of the other in a framed shelf they would take up very little space

I got mine at northern tool.

Comes in 50 and 32 gal with vented lids and bulkheads installed. The plastic is thick enough that I can drill it to tap in 1/4” fittings so I don’t have to try to get a nut on the inside.

That’s awesome! You haven’t had any leaks from the tapping?
