I'm looking to add more flow to my lagoon 25. I currently have dual Sicce 1.o pumps with RFG nozzles and a small hydro powerhead providing additional flow. I'm currently looking at adding either a Vortech MP10, AI Nero 5, or the Icecap 1K gyre. I do have a sandbed so that is also an issue as I don't want it to get blown around. Thoughts?

Personally I like the Ecotech MP's. Solidly built, excellent warranty, adjustable, easy to clean and darn near dead silent

Thanks for the reply. I like the fact that the Ecotech has no wires inside the tank, but what would I need to be able to fully control it? I have an Apex Jr. Would I just need the module from Apex or would I also need the Reeflink ? The AI Nero 5 is the same price as the Mp10 and is fully controllable via the same app that I use on my Prime HD. The IceCap is much cheaper, but most likely lacks all the control of the others. My main worry though would be stirring up the sand in my 25 Lagoon. Anymore info anyone can provide would be appreciated. I really want to place an order this weekend while BRS has 10x points.

Any other input from anyone? Gyre 1K vs Nero 5. Right now I’m leaning towards the gyre.

One thing to keep in mind with the 1k gyre, the minimum flow rate is 500gph if you use both propellers. Could easily kick up a sandstorm or be too strong for some corals.

I've been debating moving mine/going down to one propeller/replacing (maybe with a Nero 5) as it seems to agitate my lps at anything over the lowest setting in my IM40.

I have the Fusion 20 and upgraded he return pump to the IM Mighty Jet return pump. I ordered the IM WaveLink Power head and got the midsize one in (ordered it wrong). I got the IM WaveLink Desktop today and it’s MUCH better. Does not kick up sand like the midsize did. The midsize was cut all the way down and was on their programmed sine mode.

I love the MP10’s but the IM ones are growing on me. Only draw back is there’s still a cord on the wet side. The one pictured is the midsize. It’s now just a fancy water mixer. If I ever upgrade tanks, I’ll be set.

The PHs are also wireless so they can be linked together.
