Need Mouth for Shroom Frag?

Hello,

Do I need to make sure there’s a piece of the mouth with a mushroom frag? I’m hoping I can just clip the edge off a mushroom thereby leaving it in place rather than taking the whole thing out and doing “pizza” cuts through the middle. This one is about 4” across.

How does the foot look? Do you see any areas that are bubbling up or stretching away? You can cut the foot if you can safely cut a piece of the foot without harming the stem.
I wouldn't cut that shroom like a pizza. Foot booger cuts are more natural cuts like your just helping them along. Heal quick and without much stress that comes along with cutting.

With a blue that size I wouldn’t frag it! I’d be incredibly proud, it’s stunning!

Same. No way I could cut a shroom that beautiful. Why is it the beautiful shrooms and bubble tip nems never reproduce and the not so nice ones multiply like mad

I know right!
It’s taken 4 years to have a nice rock of my bubbling yumas, and that includes the setback when I was left with just the smallest baby shroom from a mother rock when it hit the tank from day 1 (The main colony died off in the ammonia spike).

It’ll split when it’s ready - blues seem to enjoy getting huge before splitting IME.
Overall, if it’s happy and healthy where it is - leave it

So, I’m glad I did do anything. There’s a baby underneath. Definitely still under cover- but there. I’m assuming mom will move over in time.
