Got shrimp? If not a pseudo would be a good pick. Gotta have something with an attitude to combat the clown.

i like the psuedo, but i would not advise to put a fish in your tank that limits what you can put in the tank later, you know we change our minds about what we like in our tank all the time, so even if you dont have shrimp now, two weeks from now you might want to put a shrimp in there, then you have to tear your tank down and get the psuedo out. i would be sure i never wanted shrimp before i went that route

Very True, I added 9 peppermints to my tank with an established Blue Line Pseudo and he killed them all within hours.

They (Pretty much any dottyback) are such active and colorful fish:

How about a damsel? Something like the Azure Damsel are more peaceful than others.

i have a cleaner shrimp and i'm a huge fan of inverts so the psuedo's out i'm thinking maybe a twinspot blenny idk

not twinspot i'm thinking tail spot i mistyped earlier i used to have a bicolor blenny RIP

Have you considered a Two Spot Bimaculatus Blenny or a linear blenny. They look kinda similar to your tail-spot. I'd love to get one but I'm already pushing my luck with my tail-spot and my black combtooth. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Just my 2cents....
What about an Engineer Goby or a Diamond Watchman Goby? My DG had a lot of personality and actually spent more time in the water column than sifting sand like he should have been. He was also in a tank with a clown fish and they never had any problems. I have an Engineer Goby now and he is pretty cool. He is a hider though and a digger....so be careful if your rock is on the sand and not on the tank bottom.

Someone mentioned a Damsel and I don't presonaly like them. We have a Blue Damsel now and his name is Satin...he is horrible. The *only* fish that we have been able to keep him with is our black clown...he is the only one with enough attitude to hang with him.

My input...lol
Hope you find what you are looking for. ;-)

I would not put any fish that doesn't primarily live on the substrate in there, at least not without a lid. 15g is relatively small and in my opinion fish are more likely to jump.

A sixline would definitely need a lid.

Personally, I would look at some of the watchman/shrimp gobies and pair it with a shrimp since you like inverts.

the thing is... i have a lid.. just has an inch gap in the back that my blenny took 6 months to find..

I'm sorry if I cause problems here, but this is my opinion. The maroon clown is going to outgrow the tank or its growth will be stunted by the tank size. A full grown maroon clown can be 6 inches while most are around 4-4.5 inches. Right now if your going by the 1 inch per 5 gallons rule, your maxed out. You could get away with shrimp, but IMO anymore fish would be overdoing it.
