My wavemaker is driving me crazy. I have a hygger mini for my 20g long and even on lowest power it seems strong. Is this too strong for my torch? I’ll be moving it to a rock after it acclimates more. And is the flow okay for my hammers now that I have lowered it?

Yes, the flow is way to strong for your torch. The flow is better with the hammer (not sure how much you adjusted it, but if you have a revised video for the torch I'll be happy to have another look at it).

I adjusted the flow pattern because it was set to constant. I think this looks much better

Yes, that's a lot better - but I would even dial it back another 20-25%.
Thanks! Unfortunately it is at it’s lowest setting lol. I will be moving it to a spot with less flow in a week when I move it higher in the tank though

Generally you want to supplement return flow with a powerhead that provides 10-20x the flow of the size of the tank, ie: 150-200Gph (total). You can try moving the powerhead around to different locations (ie: higher up, etc.) to achieve the desired results.

I have the hygger mini which is popular with nano tank users but I’ve been struggling with placement for flow. I just lowered it because it was very high before and I was getting lots of algae on the bottom from lack of flow. I just moved it today so I’ll try to play around with placement some more to fine tune!
