When you say dead spots, exactly what does that mean? None of my rockwork against the wall has any color. Is that something usual?It’s best not to have your rock right up against the back wall.. you get better water circulation and potentially prevent dead spots.

The one pump on the left is rated at something like 1000gph, but it's a jebao so who knows how accurate that is. If I were to center the rockwork , how would I aim that pump to get good flow? Opposite that pump in the left I have another rated at 425 I think. I have that pointed in a upward direction towards the returns"Dead Spots" are referring to surface areas of the tank that receive very little to no flow - its really easy for gross stuff to settle and grow there, so its usually best to set yourself up so that water is flowing across all surfaces of your tank. Also, if you put a coral in a dead spot it will receive virtually no food and likely die.
Although I agree it looks really cool - having rocks leaning against the back wall can produce some problems.
