My reef aquarium is 72x24x30 and has a low current spot in the middle third of the display. Trying explore different options and how to correct this problem. I have an MP40 on both ends of the tank but is not enough current for my SPS. I have entertained putting one more MP40 on the rear of the glass but don't want it to blow my sand bed all over the tank. also do not think that that the one MP40 on rear would be blowing a wide enough water column to solve my issue. Would love to use two MP10's but have read mixed reviews of them being used on 1/2 inch glass. All thoughts, comments, and experience is much appreciated.

I dont think the MP10s would work on that glass however if you wanted too and had the room run a sea swirl right in the middle of the tank, Id run a 1 inch sea swirl and a pump that is about 900-1100 GPH so it will rotate, now one thing to remember you would be pumping from your sump area so you will have to either turn down the main return to make sure your drains can handle it. But sea swirls are awesome

Ahhh I would love to have the room for the swirls, what would even be greater is that they would dispurse the current from the MP40s and provide that "alternating" pattern to the current.

You know you could always try a couple of those Wp-40 pumps from fish-street. Now I know you can get them sinced to controllers but hey 7000 gph of flow wont hurt

Yea they are coming out with the Wp-25 but it is gonna be about 2 months or so since they are in such demand.

Just replaced a tunze 6100.10 with a jebao wp40 and I'm really impressed. The wp25 may be better for your needs, but the wp40 has a fair amount of adjustment , it has a low setting which is 30% power, which would be around ~1000gph, that may be a good flow for you.
Also the wp40 has a decent magnet, not scary powerful like my tunze (the tunze magnet is dangerous lol) but feels secure on my 135g with 1/2" glass.

do you think swapping out one of the 40's on the end for a 60 would reach the 1/3 area problem that your having? If it did, wonder how 2 40s on one side, and a 60 on the opposite would do.

I have order two more MP40 that should be arriving today. I will keep every updated
