Hi everyone. I’m planning ahead for my fowlr 40g tank. When I add good lights I’ll start with coral. I want the best flow for an LPS tank. LPS are my favorite coral so I want all the equipment to be LPS friendly. I’ve thought about one Icecap 1k Gyre or 2 Vortech MP10’s. Since LPS typically like lower flow, are these good choices? Are there other powerheads that you recommend? The return pump I have runs at about 250-300gph with head loss. I appreciate any help as I know very little about flow!

Either a pair of vortech mp10’s if it’s in the budget. If not then a pair of jebao OW 10 for much cheaper

What do the vortechs offer that a cheaper pump doesn’t. I know they don’t have a cord in the tank and have different settings. Does the Jebao have different settings with the controller? Can I program setting with an Apex?

Vortechs will have higher quality control measures and higher quality components. More robust native programming. Either can be controlled through an apex with the appropriate adaptors.

Can the apex do everything a powerhead controller can do?
