After a month+ of planning and 2-3 weeks of setup I'm finally putting water in my tank as we speak. I only have 44 gallons of water mixed and need about 70 to fill the aquarium (trash can limitations). I've started making more water to finish filling, but it won't be ready for another 12ish hours.

The water level is still about 5 inches below the overflow, so should i put a powerhead in the aquarium below the current water level to keep the water moving in the meantime or is it okay for it to sit still until the rest is ready?

I always leave a power head in tank to continue mixing the new water. Just incase the salt didn't get mixed really good

It took me about 5 days to fill my tank. Once salt water is mixed and clear, it is not going to unmix. Of course, running a power head will not hurt either.
