Found this on my zoa, doesn’t seem to be effecting it. The zoa still opens fully and acts normal. The fray is currently being dipped, but I have to manually remove the worm looking thing.

Yeah I’m familiar with spirorbids, not worried about that. I was talking about the transparent mass, I’ve watched it grow over the past few days. I carefully brushed it off with a soft brush. It doesn’t move at all like a worm, so you might be onto something with the sponge guess. I did recently discover a bunch of pineapple sponges in the tankif you are talking about the white swirly then it's just a Spirorbid Worm. Harmless filter feeder. The clear mass spreading on to the plug looks like a sponge.
that sponge isn't going to overtake your zoasYa it's this, nothing to worry about. it's actually a pretty cool hitchhiker
White Sponge | Melev's Reef
This sponge formed quietly over time in my son's 29g tank. While rearranging the rockwork, I discovered it and turned it toward the front to observe it. I'm not sure if it will continue to thrive now that it has been moved, but it is pretty cool looking. I named this 2" x 2" patch Structured...www.melevsreef.com
Just don't give it to take AIR , because this will kill it, and isn't looking good after. If you get the same mass but black, then is better to take it off, because the black sponge is invasive.
