Need recommendations for focal point fish for 28g cube

The kids want to buy me a fish for Christmas and I want to get my focal point fish for the tank. I currently have:
Yellow watchman goby
Small percula clown
Cleaner shrimp
Peppermint shrimp
Cuc

I wanted to get something that will be out and about all day swimming. Something that you will always see when you pass the tank. I also love the vibrant colors the reef tank fish offer as I am coming from freshwater tanks. Originally I wanted a wrasse but now I am hoping you all may give me a better idea of a different fish to put in there.

I need them to stay small as I wouldn't mind putting a 4th fish (maybe a flasher wrasse) in there and being done. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

A few options would include: royal gramma, yellow assessor, midas blenny.

Thanks for the suggestions. The gramma looks really cool. Will a midas blenny and my goby get along? Will the blenny be a free swimming fish or hang at the bottom?

Midas blennies spend time perched on rocks and in the top half of the water column. It will be fine with the watchman.

Engineer goby. When he/she is an adult, they are quite the show fish.

Topping out well over a foot, an engineer goby would not be a great choice for a 28g tank.

Due to their size and extensive burrowing, engineer gobies are recommended for a 4' minimum tank size. An 18" tank is not a good home for a fish that reaches over a foot.

I think a blue fish will be good with your current stock- Blue Sapphire Damselfish (Chrysiptera springeri).
One of the Damsels I like bec it is not aggresive.

I had one and my peppermint shrimp dissappeared. Plus he picked on the goby and kicked him out of his home

Black cap basslet (Gramma melacara). Its a little more expensive than a royal gramma, but much more beautiful in my opinion. I love my pair. They are always out and aren't afraid of anybody (they even shove the tomato clowns away from their hole in the rock).
