Planning my next build. Going with 80 shallow and a 40 sump. I will be running heavy coral and tend to feed heavy. I'm assuming my current octopus nwb 110 won't cut it.
Vertex Omega would be my choice. I picked up a 130 from BRS on Black Friday for $200.00. I replaced a mediocre skimmer I got with my 65g aquarium. At first I thought my original skimmer was good until I got the Vertex dialed in. The skim-mate from the Vertex is a lot darker than I was getting with the other one. I will say that for the first two weeks of the Vertex breaking in, I was frustrated. It overflowed a lot. For the last week it has been spot on. I would be sure to follow the break in guidelines provided with the skimmer.
