So I’m somewhat new to saltwater tanks. Definitley new to the sump idea. My return pump was acting up and I cleaned it tonight. Well something is wrong with the threading and I can’t get it right. It’s spewing water every where. I have a new one on the way but it won’t be here until Thursday.

so my question is, is it possible for my fish to be fine overnight without the return since i can’t watch it with just these two hydro heads?

hi yes,but move so current breaks surface :)

As long as you have circulation and correct salt and temperature

If you have a heater in your sump, you can move it to your display. You can aim your powerheads upwards so there is more rippling of the water (more gas exchange). Should be fine overnight without the return pump.

Sorry if I sound dumb but you mean right at the top water level?

you’ll be fine for a day or two. Just make sure your heater is in the tank instead of sump, so your tank stays at correct temp while you don’t have water returning from the sump. Other response was to get some movement at water/air interface to keep water oxygenated. Can move power head closer to surface to create turbulence.
