I have a 40 gallon cube tank that has finished cycling (until I added a cleanup crew of snails). The ammonia jumped a little but is falling again and nearly gone as of yesterday.

My equipment is a 750gph SICCE return pump, AI Prime light, VorTech mp10 power head, skimmer that is still in the breakin period.

My testing yesterday showed:
SpGrav 1.026 with a calibrated refractometer
pH 8.0-8.2
NH3 0-0.25 ppm
NO2 0
NO3 10

I am testing with an API saltwater master test kit

I have not bought a Ca, Mg or alk test yet

I have 2 questions.

First, what are some "easy" corrals to keep for a newbie? I have looked at several of them and want something that has a good chance of surviving my first go at this.

Second, I am planning a mixed reef so should I start with corral or fish

My fish wish list includes a pair of clowns, Royal gamma, firefish and a gobie of some kind.

Any suggestions would be welcomed

zoanthids, mushrooms, great beginner corals. Basically the majority of photosynthetic soft corals.

Star polyps, Xenia, anthelia, some leathers, etc. are also pretty easy although the first three grow fast and can take over

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
