Hello all! Ill make this short, just because my mind is boggled and want to have this done as quick as i could.

2 nights ago i caught my blue green chromie swimming about at night. Yesterday, he looked a little beat up but was swimming about - just very disoriented, except he hasnt eaten anything. Wokeup today to a dead anthias sitting in the corner of my tank.

Ive had these fish for 3 years, my anthias bred every single night for the last 2 years (male has passed)

Chromis the same, except breeding

Now, she refused to eat again today, and is swimming about now while the lights are off getting shoed away by my other fish close to where they sleep. Although a simple question, just need some security. Should i sump her to recover, or leave her be or qt!
What should i prepare for.

Thank you

It certainly sounds like disease but I can't be sure. Anything wet added recently?

Have you added anything new to the tank recently? Even corals/inverts? Do you QT all livestock?
Lol everything down to the snail is qted except only corals for the last year. But now i usually remount every coral i buy. I do have aiptasia, and now to think about it, he was sleeping by a monster one the night. He had some nipped fins the next morning, and the other fish every so often would be aggressive toward her. Woke up today to the anthias laying next to the aiptasia but still, i feel like it couldntve killed him.

99.9 percent sure i dont have any wat parasitic stuff, only due to qt and i havnt seen any abnormalitys since the tank has been started. But hey you never know

All fish are fine, same behavior/routine personalitys. Only animal ive added except coral was a qted emrald crab. But the crab is way to tiny to cause physical problems.

Im usually good with fish disease, but both the fish looked beatup and i know exactly who to blame in my tank if it really came down to it

Have the chromie in the sump. I closely check my fish everyday so hopefully i wont have to pull her for infection issues. As of now, she looked very weak against my tanks flow, a couple scales are missin, with some chopped up fins.

Certainly seems like disease is imminent, im just so lost. Ill be sitting infront of my tank for the next couple days thats for sure.

I've seen good fish go bad when another fish is on its way out. For example:

I had an awesome naso tang, would hand feed and let me pet it... dream behavior for any fish. I fell in love with a powder brown from my lfs, qt'd and treated him, whole 9 so the powder brown was healthy as can be.

Buuuut he was a complete butthead! Went after the naso, who was easily 3 times his size, relentlessly for days, tried to catch him and he'd stop for a bit.

Woke up one morning to a very stressed, very weak naso who basically swam into my hand, so I took him out, nursed him back to health. Let the powder brown establish second in command (my female lightning is a big bertha) and then re added the naso... all was well for a couple months.

Outta nowhere woke up to the naso on the sandbed, barely breathing, fins tattered, stress spots all over him and a lawnmower blenny taking pop shots at him!

Maybe the chromis "caught a cold" and the other fish, including the anthia, tried to end it before it became an issue? Sorry for the loss btw. 3 years is a decent amount of time to establish a bond.

I know you've been a reefer for some time now... that's why it's always so shocking when something like this happens..
I get so depressed everytime i loose a fish. Usually always a jumping problem with me

I know, almost 3. Tank was setup in july 2014. Its like once 1 fish gets weak, my whole tank goes bonkers on eachother. Have a naso and a purple tang that rowdy everyone up, to the point i cant even add new fish. Just sad that the male anthias i had spawned infront of my powerhead if not 6-7 days a week 10 minutes before lights out.

@Sabellafella I think this is one of those times where you're just gonna have to wait it out and see what happens next. There's not enough to go on (yet) to draw any conclusions.
I know =/ little fella hasnt eaten today yet. She makes it seem like everythings normal but i know its not. Hopefully shell recover soon
