I've got a 180 that is mostly acropora. I am currently lighting the tank with a 48" Pacific Sun Hybrid that is doing an excellent job directly under the fixture. The colors 12" on either side of the fixture are not very good. I have my fixture 12" above the tank, increasing the intensity causes some of my acros higher in the tank to lighten.

Anyone have a suggestion on how to light the ends? I was thinking of replacing the fixture but don't really want to do to cost. The more viable option is to purchase supplemental fixtures for the ends. Any ideas on what would work well? I have an Apex if that helps.

Supplement lighting will do the trick.
Or change your aquascape that corals are directly under your light.
I had the same problem but I knew that would happen.
Have some less light demanding corals on the sides.
I assume you have a 72" tank and missing out on a foot of light on either side?
Have a FTS?

Sorry about the delayed response, I've been on vacation. Rearranging the rocks is not a practical option with the way I've built the reef.

Unless you supplement the tank with longer lighting or possibly adding kessils on the side (just for reference) you'll always have the darker sides of the tank. Like diesel said, perfect opportunity to put some lower light demanding corals in those areas.

I still think you can change your rock scape on the sides.
Gives you also overal more flow from your pumps and for that a healthier tank.
