So recently me and my boyfriend were doing a project in the fish room. But we wanted to change up allot of things we had a frag tank set up had done some upgrades as well as bought some new fancy toys.. so we wanted to move our frag tank to the middle of the room and we had lots of ideas at 1am as we're putting back the frag tank back together in the middle of the room to adjust the stand.. at one point we were on a conversation of how sick would it be to have 2 in the middle of the room and 2 on the shelf where there was room but he wants a fragging station so having the tank in the middle of the room wasn't ideal. Last picture was before making any changes. First picture moved the frag tank and sump to middle of the room. But then I wanted to make it look finished so started painting we both like the grey but I got this idea to paint the trim black because you know modern right haha .. not sure that I like it he likes it better grey still have lots of grey should I go back??

The way that structure is constructed makes me nervous
I'm the boyfriend. Lol. That rack has held well over 600 gallons for many years. Over 30 tanks at the same time from breeding freshwater fish. It's gonna hold a couple lowboy frag tanks without issue.

Great to hear it’s served you well in the past. You’re placing all the weight transfer onto the fasteners vs solid material supports. Easy to address with the framework empty. Your fish room sounds fun!

Not one of those joint is loading up the fasteners. Even on the top shelf, the load bearing supports runs right down to the concrete floor. The deck screws are just there to hold it together. Likely not visible in the picture. It's a variation on the rocket engineer stand plans.
The structure is 10 feet wide and completely level even though the floor is far from it. Most of the vertical beams had to be cut at various lengths to accomplish that. I do actually appreciate your concern as actually the "structure" could be pretty dangerous if constructed in the manner you suggest it was.
Fish room is in a sad state at this point but hopefully will be returned to its former glory soon.
