Hi everyone,
I need some advise. We are getting some work done in our house and it involves laying new flooring which means I need to move my 120 gal tank (+30 gal sump). My initial thought is to get enough 5 -6 gal buckets and drain a good portion of the water out, keeping enough in for the 8 fish, move the tank to another spot, put the water back in and rinse/repeat when it is time to out it back.

What are your thoughts on this? I don't want to dump the water for obvious reasons. I am also worried about kicking up debris and causing more of a swing in parameters than I already am..

Looking forward to your input!!

Sounds like the perfect time for a redo.

Get everything out. Keep all the rock in buckets. Get rid of the sand. Get new sand. Redo rock work and add new sand when the floor is done. Re use the water after pouring it thru a filter sock
