I have a new maxima and this is what he looks like right now:

Pinched mantle? Should I freshwater bath him?

Sorry I missed this one, how is it today?

I wouldn't FWD it, it looks like it has been being nipped by something.

Up until it started displaying PMD it was securely fastened and upright on the rock. As for getting nipped, that may be a possibility.

Orchid Dotty
YTB Damsel
Helfrichi
Lavender Tang
Tomani Tang
Melarunus wrasse
Blue Side Fairy
Carpenter Flasher
False Perc

I had to lights off for most of yesterday and part of today too acclimate my black tang but he doesn't look awesome ;-)

Is the clam still doing well? I don't see anything in that fish list that is throwing up any red flags other than maybe a tang trying to get at some algae on it's shell.

Yeah hes still holding on in there. Im contemplating a FW dip or spot feeding Reef Chili of something.

I am not sure the dip or feeding would help. I don't think clams are able to consume large particles like reef chili. I would make sure nothing is harassing it and then leave it be. Could it be acclimating to higher light?

It "could" be. It was in a 40 breeder for about a week under a 6 bulb ati t5 system and now is under 14k Ecotech Radions at 55% in a 6' 125g

After 11 years I've gotten ok at it. At some point you learn if you keep quality parameters the vast majority of organisms will thrive even if there is something that goes wrong temporarily. I've also learned that alot of the time things can die for no **** reason!

Spot feeding or FWD is just going to make matters worse IMHO. Clams don't need fed. Are you running carbon in the tank? If not I suggest adding some and run it hard and change every few days for a week. Can you post an update pic?

Here you go. Its a terrible pic but you can see just about everything. If you need a better pic i can do that too.

I think It does look a little better. I think I would do the heavy carbon and just see how it does.

Happy to help via Tapatalk:)

Thanks skinz. No more 2" clams lol. Also should i use some rock rubble to prop it up before it digd into the rock with its foot?
