How big is your tank? Are you planning on having a ton of flow at the bottom also? Do you know what the par is at the bottom?

32 gal biocube and low flow and cant remember off hand the pars at the bottom right now just have basic bio cube stocked light but switching lights to a AI prime, the few coral I got now dose fine but just not that very controllable to adjust

Out of curiosity, Why are you doing bare bottom? Do you just like the look?

With lower flow... perhaps some chalices? or euphylia?

For sure! I have a buying problem. If you have the space, you could do acans too. One of the nice things about bare bottoms is that you can do higher flows and not have to worry about sand covering corals. If you did decide to put a powerhead lower, you could also add some corals that like slightly higher flows, such as cyphastreas and porites.

Hi! I am very into ‘living bottoms’. Personally, I use scolies, lobos, trachys, open brains, and elegance as focal points (buy these first) then find complimentary colored zoas to fill the in between spaces like a carpet

edit: also plate corals and fungia (long tentacle plates are a favorite of mine. Anemone look without the anemone moving issue). The zoas do not harm the corals unless you allow the zoas to grow out of control and outcompete them.

Also, search for some barebottoms on the site and see what you like. Then ask them what they have and why they choose it.

Here's a video from tidal gardens.
