Need some guidance - SPS wont encrust

I'm running the Tek 8 bulb T5 and one reefbright XHO strip. This year must have really flown by because I was under the impression that my bulbs were only 6 months old..... Lo and behold they are closer to 10/11 months old. I don't know if that is the reason or not but looks like it may be time to change the bulbs.....

There are just so many factors that cause different things to happen just threw that out as an idea

I would be carfule changing out all ur bulbs.
I would get the combo u want and change 2 bulbs/replace
Then in 2 weeks change out 2 more. Until u have change out all 8.
That still might be to fast so watch ur corals to make sure they are not burning when they ante fist changes out.
On one build I read he changed one bulb each month.
I like that the best but I would forget.

Good luck post some pics and lets see what happens

I would lower our alk take out the GFO run carbon and do a few small water changes if I where you to start.

I also haven't seen your salinity reading did it fall out on you? May be check that sometimes it's simple and we just look over it.

I used to be a fan of gfo but just stopped using it and my results are way better IMO. Their as no such thing years ago so not using it is fine by me lol.

I just did a water change last night and will test the water again today and see where my levels are at. I did notice that my salinity creeped up a bit to 1.028 but I don't think that's high enough to make the corals stop encrusting.... I adjusted the salinity level when I did the water change... Just one thing I can cross off the list.

Thanks,

Can you share a few pics of what you're talking about? Close up of the bases specifically
