So I found a chalice in my sump behind a rock that you can’t see behind. Yes, in my sump is what I said. I was getting about a gallon of cheato out to feed the goats, moved some rocks, and there it was. No clue how it got there, grew, or what. I have looked at a ton of chalice photos and cannot seem to figure out what kind it is. The pic has a ton of white light on, as I don’t have a filter on my phone. It is also a tad angry at picture time,as it is now in the display tank. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hard to say, I have a feeling that the color will change now that it is getting exposed to light

I have a 250w led grow light in my sump set opposite of the display and it looked super purple in the sump, but I would assume that’s due to the strong pink overtime of the lighting. Pure white light it is more of a burgundy color. Not sure if that helps. I am about to move it to a corner with about the same amount of light that made it behind the rock. Will snap a pic then as well.

My Hollywood stunner turned green in high light, purple in low. But not sure on your lighting maybe a white light pic would help.

I bet that a couple months under blues will change the color more. Eyes look like a stunner possibly

Here is a pic with it in a spot with lower light and about the same flow. Maybe this will help as it is a little closer of a pic.

Also any ideas on how it got there? I haven’t added anything to the sump since tank start up. Outside of some snails. Only pulled out cheato for the goats. My rock was from someone tearing down a tank, but they didn’t have any chalices. The cheato was from the same tank also. Is it possible it was a single eye on a snail shell?

Also a fyi these thing grow fast. I see you have some sps around it on the first pic. I have lost two acros to their swiper tentacles.

Yeah, it was only there for pic only. From all I have read they prefer low flow and low light, so I have plenty of room down low for it.
