Tank is 6mo old, prior to fish it sat fallow for 2mo. Nitrates and po4 have been 5-10/0.08 for a while until recently. I've had a ton of gha and cyano show up. I tested no3 and po4 today with a nyos kit and Hanna ulr.

Nitrate 1 (maybe 0.5)ppm
Po4 0.01

These are both super low! I feed mysis 2x/day and it's not a small amount. I feed nori 3x/wk. I have 9 fish, 3 are tangs, so it's not like nutrients aren't being added to the tank.

I skim on the dry size 24x7
I have a fuge but it's been taken over by cyano/gha too. I added some chaeto yesterday.

What should I do, if anything? I have the stuff to dose nitrates and phosphates but with all of the algea the readings are off. I have some microbacter7 and microbacter clean. I was considering dosing mb7 to help nitrates.

Thoughts?

Your nutrients are probably higher than you think. You are getting false readings on your nutrients..the GHA is consuming the phosphates and nitrates.. try getting rid of the algae first

Ok that's the answer I was hoping for lol. I read microbacter clean helps w gha and cyano a lot. I'll dose that and do some manual removal (again)

It might not be nutrients as far as cyano goes. I had problems with cyano and never could get rid of it. I did not have a great big bunch but I had a fair bit.

Then one day I decided to add a number of the popular aquarium bacterial cultures. And the cyano went away to be replaced by some green hair algae but not that much.

Not thinking nutrients but it may be the skimmer removing them.
For now, you have an issue going on with dino/cyano. Follow this to turn the tank around then address the nutrients:
Prepare by starting with a water change and blow this stuff loose with a turkey baster and siphon up loose particles.
Turn lights off (at least white and run blue at 10-15%) for 5 days and at night dose 1ml of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons for all 5 nights. If you dont have light dependent coral- turn all lights off.
During the day dose 1ml of liquid bacteria (such as bacter 7) per 10 gallons.
Clean filters daily and DO NOT FEED CORAL FOODS OR ADD NOPOX as it is food for dinos.
Day 5,, you can start with blue lights - ramping up and work your white lights up slowly

It might be dino but the tank is still maturing

I encountered a massive cyano outbreak following just one dose of Vibrant. Daily 20 percent water changes and sand cleaning didn't budge it. After three weeks of daily Microbacter Clean and 7 (one cap of Clean and 1/2 cap of 7 in a Waterbox 25) and no water changes it destroyed the cyano. All the livestock was unaffected with the exception one coral that lost some tissue but is fine now. I will NEVER use Vibrant again as it killed a healthy bird's-nest and chalice in a few days and led to massive cyano issues. Microbacter is slow, but safe and effective
