Need some help this evening... anyone around?

Hi everyone,

If anyone is available this evening, I need some help getting this monstrocity of a fish tank out of the back of my buddy's truck. Its an older glass cages 180g, so its reinforced in every way it can be and is 1/2" glass everywhere. In other words, its about 400 lbs.

I'm more than happy to grab a pizza and some beer for those available!

FWIW, this will only be going from the back of his truck into my garage, not into the house (yet) or anything, so a pretty simple move... this thing is just unbelievably heavy.

My back is still jacked up from moving Kevans and Ricks tanks. Seriously have been to the chiroprator and had massage therapy twice from each. Cant risk hurting it again when I'm about to move myself soon. Good Luck!

We found a house a few weeks back. we are at the last stage of the hurdles, the appraisal is getting done today and we will have the results on monday. should close on sept 27

I don't know about easily, but its certainly doable. That thing has to weight 400lbs. Its 1/2" glass all the way around and EVERYTHING is eurbraced twice. Its a freaking tank.

Nice! Congrats on the house! We were approved on a Tuesday, went looking with our realtor on Wednesday, put in an offer on Thursday, and accepted the counter offer on Friday when we bought our house. Are you guys staying in LaVergne or venturing out?

Oh wow! didnt realize it was 1/2 glass. That will be a beast.

We are going to Mboro. We wanted a decent sized yard with big trees in a more established neighborhood. You really cant find that in Smyrna Lavergne area.

Congrats Chris. I can't wait to get out of La Vergne. Hopefully in two years once my daughter finishes High School. Hate to pull her out for her senior year. The boro is the place to go. I think we're headed that way when we eventually move.

The tank is a Glass Cages tank made back when they were over building them. I would not be surprised if they made them with 3/4 bottoms and then used a 4" wide euro around the bottom with 1/2" this includes the entire overflow area in them. Then add 1/2 euro all around. YIKES! their cross braces are made of two 3/8" pieces i believe that are laminated together.
