Need some help with a sump

Got this sump from a local reefer and was unsure if it was usable. You cant adjust anything in it. It has random egg crate glued into place. I was hoping i could adjust the water height as i wanted to use my Tunze 9012 as it needs 10.5” of water height. I also have a 29gal diy sump i got from him to.

You can see in the last pic it has an oval shape cut out. Just a very strange design. The first chamber cut out is about an inch lower than the second cut it.

the egg crate is probably there to stop macro algae from going into the other chambers. i don't believe you can change the water height to it unless you get stands(or make a stand out of eggcrate/pvc) to elevate your skimmer or anything else..
