I placed an order online. My first online order.

I got a bonsai acro, spongodes monti, a can and a chalice. The a can is great the chalice looks like it should recover but the bonsai and the monti do not look good. They have looked like this since they came out of the bag.

I have them low in the tank to acclimate.

Everything else in the tank is happy.

Could it be Los due to shipping. Any chance they could recover? I had a similar issue with a dragon coral from the same place. It looks like it may have some life left on it though.

They look pretty bad...but may recover, if you don't mind me asking, have you contacted the person or company you bought them from with your concerns?

No I have contacted them. It was a live auction and for what I paid I have a hard time complaining. I won't buy from auctions anymore though. It's not worth the stress or possible coral loss. I'd rather buy frags I can see and transport myself.

Practically speaking those are gone but just keep them in tank in case they recover by miracle. You should let the seller know about it. Auction doesn't mean they can send anything just because they were cheap. I bought quite a few from auction but they were never like this.

Yea I don’t think there is much hope for those two. :( Keep them around a bit longer just in case. If they cane out of the bag like that, then it happened before or during shipping. Was there a heat pack in the box?

There was a heat pack in the box but it was on top and the bags were cool. My wife floated them in the sump until I got home so I didn't get a temp reading coming out of the box but she said they felt cool.

Was the heat pack still warm? In general it should be separated from the bags by several layers of paper. Otherwise it can cook the coral.

Nope not separated and it was not warm. It was hard and used up.

Probably cooked the corals. If it was cold by the time you got it then it’s likely a cheap heat pack which gets way too hot especially if not separated from the coral. I’m just guessing here based upon what you said.
