I have had this reddish brown scum growing in my saltwater tank lately, can anyone tell me what it is and what should I use to get rid of it

Welcome to R2R,

Those are diatoms or brown algae.
Perfectly normal, meaning your tank is on the path to maturity.

During cycling, you will experience algae bloom, a lot worse that your current state. Still normal.

New rock, tank, they have silicate and then promote algae growth.

However you should control the algae growth after cycling. You don't want coral overgrown by algae.

Happy reefing.

Welcome to r2r! Looking at your rocks id say its a fairly established tank so im leaning toward cyano.

Diatoms and a little cyano
Reduce white lighting a little and blow off occasionally with turkey baster and/or increase water flow a little bit
