Hello fellow Reefers!
I have 2 clowns that have contracted brook
I live in Canada so getting certain things is nearly impossible. My question I'm putting out is there any other method to treat brooklynella other than formalin bath. I have separated the 2 into a hospital tank to hopefully contain the outbreak. I am running the tank hypo salinity, because i understand that wont cure ut but will help relieve some of the discomfort they are having. And slow it down/hold until i can get them proper treatment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are positive on the diagnosis,

Brooklynella is difficult to treat without formalin. Five minute freshwater dips can help keep it under control for a time. those work much better if you can move the fish to a sterile tank after each dip. It is experimental, but you could try 30 minute hydrogen peroxide baths and then move the fish to a sterile tank, do this daily for three treatments. 3% peroxide, dosed at 12 ml per gallon give a dose of 100 ppm.

Trouble is - what to do with the fish after that? You cannot put them back into the tank they are in now, they will just get reinfected.
