Can anyone tell me what this is? I showed a picture to 3 different LFS and got 3 different answers. One said cyano, the other diatoms, the last dino. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
About the tank, I've had the tank running since January. This started roughly a month ago. I got a tds meter and noticed that my RODI unit was putting out water with a tds between 12-16 so I have no clue as to how long I was using bad water. Immediately went and bought a new RODI unit since I couldn't figure that one out. I assume the seal was bad on the DI canister. Anyways, I immediately did a 20 gallon water change with 0 TDS water and vacuumed the sand. This is a 65 gallon with a 20 gallon sump. I feed once a day. My LPS look to be doing great. I have two wave makers a jebao pp-8 and jebao pp-4. Filter sock in sump with vertex 130 skimmer, then to chaeto and reactor with gfo and carbon. I dose alkalinity and calcium.
My params are
PH 8.2
AM 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
Alk 9.3
I assume the nitrate numbers are just false readings from whatever is all over my sand. Should I just keep doing water changes every few days with the new 0 tds water? Thanks!

Agree Cyano. Keep up your WCs and blow more water across your sand bed. You could cut back on your light schedule to give yourself a chance to get it under control.

Dino. Get a microscope to confirm either way.
Mine was £10 from amazon. I think it does 100x 400x and 1000x.
