I got an sps tank and I am looking for a knowledgeable person to help me identify lots of corals that I have no idea what they are, this tank wasn’t cared for well before I got it and it’s doing a lot better now that then but I feel like the corals may be happier if I knew what they were and how to place them

Maybe start with some pics so those who can identify can chime in.
I know the slimer the lepto the pink mili and the chalices I know there’s some tricolor acro and the seasons greetings monti the rest I’m not so sure of

notable mention not all of these photos are current and I’ll add more as soon as I can take some

With all the new morphs It may not be possible to identify the coral you have I think it would be better to let them be if they are doing well and are growing well I would leave them were they are good

More concerned with species than morphs

To be completely honest there is too much in this tank and I’m going to be moving it soon so I’d like to cut out some of the rock structure as some of the corals are growing out of the water, there is no space to clean the back of the tank, or the sides, and it’s way too tall

I don’t think the placement is as critical as supplying adequate lighting, flow and making as few changes as possible water chemistry-wise. I’d leave everything where it is and run the tank as it was previously ran, including following the same maintenance schedule. If you’re going to change stuff, do it VERY gradually.

It’s a 40 with 2 xr30s 2 mh t5s and a reefbrite with an apex system running a calcium reactor, 2 mp40 and 2 mp10s and 2 return pipes, perameters are all perfect and there’s not a spot in the tank tank wouldn’t get enough light, but the tank has to be moved as I’m buying a house, and there is one rock in particular that has nothing on it I was thinking of moving to a larger tank as a good staple for new rock work, and the corals already had to be moved around due to the fact that a lot was dead when I bought the tank and a lot broke, so now I’m more worried about getting the tank where I can clean it so in the future I don’t have rotting junk sitting in the back. I’d like to save as much of the coral as possible which is why I’m asking for help identifying the stuff I’m not too familiar with

I think in your situation, it would be ok to remove the offending rock and rearrange things a bit to ease maintenance. As for ID’ing your corals, take a picture of each and post them. You’ll have species names for everything in no time.
