I'll be upgrading my 72g bowfront to a 125g here in the next few weeks. Unfortunately I don't have the extra room to setup the 125 before. So I'm looking at a breakdown, removal, setup in the same (looooooong) day.

I've purchased some new sand for the 125. So the sand bed will be new. Do I keep some existing sand in the sump or just toss it all together? Should I keep some and put it in the new sand to seed? Just looking for some ideas on how to do this to avoid a tank crash.

This is also a call to arms, literally, to line up some potential help for the move.

Just rinse and reuse the sand. But rinse very very well and soak in ro/di. Unless.u just want to spend money in new sand

He said he already purchased new sand.

You just want to keep 2-4 cups of the old to help seed the new.
