Ok i know alot are all about QT'ing fish as i have all of mine currently in the Display tank. I have a Talbots Damsel that has ton of personality that has been the only fish in my invert and coral QT tank. He has been in there for the last 6 months never showing one kind of sign of illness. I look at him always because he is such a outgoing fish. I have never seen any signs of Ich.

Now i go on vacation in 3 days for a week. I have an automatic feeder for my main display but not for my QT tank. The only person i trust that usually feeds and checks on my tanks will be gone the same week.

I was thinking because it has been 6 months in the tank by himself with no signs of disease maybe i can move him to the main display without doing TTM or using copper.

Do you guys think i'd be ok or should still treat before moving him over?

Many people quarantine with no treatment whatsoever. So you have done that. Many people use prophylactic treatments: usually something like copper, freshwater dips, prazipro and others. There are risks in either approach. Of course, the tank transfer method is not really a chemical treatment and as such offers scant risk. You can do it with 5 gallon buckets. And it will eliminate the risk of Ich. Damsels have a reputation of hardiness and you could probably do a series of aggressive prophylactic treatments.

i just feel 6 months is awhile without any kind of symptoms of disease to feel safe enough to put him in the tank but know the right way is to run them thru copper or at least TTM. I just don't want him left for 6 days without getting fed. That's why i thought maybe he is ready for the Main Display.

6 months and zero symptoms. I'd say you're safe. I'm sure someone will tell me I'm wrong though.

I'd say just don't feed him for a week. The damsel may create other problems other than disease in your display. You posted yesterday so you still have 2 days. Feed him today and again tomorrow. Since this is an established tank I assume there are pods for him to eat in there? He may get hungry but a healthy fish is not going to starve in a week. Sometimes it takes longer than a week to get a fish eating properly.
